Here are some:

1. Use an accurate conversion tracking tool to measure and monitor your results. without that you are whistling in the dark
2. Your Headline - ensure it attracts attention
3. Call for action - ensure your Adv motivates people to click through
4. ensure your landing pages are interesting and relevant to those who click through. If worded well, these should not only cause the people who click through to look at other pages in your site but also improve your Google Adwords Quality score).
