SUMMARY:Gemeinschaftsbildung mit Fasten und Meditation / Community Building with Fasting and Meditation
\n  \nThe process of community building according to Scott Peck allows for a deep immersion in the encounter with yourself. From this deep self-contact\, with the help of the guiding principles of community building\, a new form of listening emerges\, and encounters become more authentic—this is the foundation for building community with the other participants. We will spend a lot of time together in a circle to experience the 4 phases of the process. Time to recognize masks and habits that no longer serve us\, to accept them\, and to shed them step by step. This opens up space for new life experiences in everyday life. The format will be a Community Building Skills Training with plenty of circle time. \nFasting and meditation will support us on this journey. By reducing our food intake\, the mind becomes alert and the body is cleansed. If you wish\, you can also use this week for a digital detox and turn off your electronic devices (phone\, tablets\, computer\, smartwatch…) for a week. \nMeditation leads to stillness\, to a deep connection with yourself and the source of being. Important life themes may emerge\, an opportunity to assess where you stand\, and perhaps a new direction for you being creative in this world will reveal itself. \n(Translation with Deep)

SUMMARY:Workshop: Community Building Skills Training (CBST)
DESCRIPTION:Workshop: Community Building Skills Training (CBST)\n23 October\, 9:30 – 25 October\, 16:30 GMT \n Location: Biovilla\, Herdade de Pinhal Basto\, Vale de Barris\, CCI 4238\, 2950-055 Palmela  \nFacilitator: Edward Groody\, Founder of Community Building International \nOrganization and Contact in Portugal: Nádia Sales Grade \n“There can be no vulnerability without risk; there can be no community without vulnerability; there can be no peace\, and ultimately no life\, without community.” Scott Peck\, author of The Road Less Travelled and The Different Drum \nWhat is this workshop about? \nThe workshop The Art of Connection: Community Building Skills Training\, according to M. Scott Peck explores new ways of communicating and relating to ourselves and others with the aim of building healthier relationships. Along this path\, we create “community” as a way of being that allows us to live more authentically\, both individually and together. \nThe ability to communicate with depth\, honesty\, and vulnerability\, together with a sense of belonging\, mindfulness\, and emotional intelligence\, leads to “an experience of authentic connection\, unusual safety\, and extraordinary respect\,” as described by Edward Groody\, the founder of Community Building International\, who will facilitate this first workshop. \nThe programme combines communication and self-awareness exercises with practical circle time that foster presence\, belonging\, mindfulness\, and space for silence\, reflection\, and genuine connection. The workshop will be held in Portuguese and English. \nWho is it for? \nThe workshop is designed for those interested in developing deeper and more authentic relationships\, fostering open communication in a safe and respectful environment\, while deepening their personal development and spiritual experience. It is also aimed at those who wish to support others in this process or who seek\, within their teams\, organisations\, and communities\, ways to deepen collaboration and coexistence. \n“How strange that we should ordinarily feel compelled to hide our wounds when we are all wounded! Community requires the ability to expose our wounds and weaknesses to our fellow creatures. It also requires the ability to be affected by the wounds of others… But even more important is the love that arises among us when we share\, both ways\, our woundedness.” Scott Peck \nHow does it work? \n“The Art of Connection: Community Building Skills Training” develops an experience of community through four phases: \n\nPseudocommunity\nChaos\nVoid\nCommunity\n\nIn the workshop introduction\, we explain the meaning of these phases and the skills we will acquire throughout the workshop with practical exercises and shared circles. The workshop aims at: \n\n Creating authentic community\nDeveloping authentic and non-violent communication\nPracticing mindfulness and emotional intelligence\nUnderstanding human differences\nOpening space for silence\, sharing\, and genuine encounter\nDeepening our spiritual experience\n\nThe workshop facilitator provides structure and guidance\, ensuring the group feels emotionally safe\, but is not responsible for assessing participants’ emotional experiences\, as the workshop isn’t and doesn’t replace therapy. \nHowever\, the experience can be emotionally intense\, so we ask you please to assess your ability to participate and consult a healthcare professional if necessary. The workshop lasts 3 days and requires full attendance. \nSchedule \nOctober 23\n9:30 AM – 1:00 PM Workshop\n1:00 PM – 2:30 PM Lunch\n2:30 PM – 7:00 PM Workshop\n7:30 PM – 9:00 PM Dinner \nOctober 24\n9:00 AM – 1:00 PM Workshop\n1:00 PM – 2:30 PM Lunch\n2:30 PM – 7:00 PM Workshop\n7:30 PM – 9:00 PM Dinner \nOctober 25\n9:00 AM – 1:00 PM Workshop\n1:00 PM – 2:30 PM Lunch\n2:30 PM – 4:30 PM Workshop  \nLanguages: The workshop will be conducted in Portuguese and English; English speakers are welcome. \nThe Venue – Biovilla: The workshop will take place at Biovilla\, a Portuguese cooperative dedicated to sustainable development and ecological\, social\, and economic regeneration\, located in the Arrábida Natural Park\, about 40 minutes from Lisbon. SUMMARY:The Art of Connections (CBST) Budapest\, Hungary
DESCRIPTION:Workshop: Community Building Skills Training (CBST)\nNovember 6–8\, 2026\nBudapest \nFacilitator: Edward Groody\, Founder of Community Building International \n“There can be no vulnerability without risk; there can be no community without vulnerability; there can be no peace\, and ultimately no life\, without community.”\nM. Scott Peck \nCommunity Building Skills Training is a three-day experiential workshop for people who feel called to deepen their capacity for honest\, meaningful connection. \nBased on the work of M. Scott Peck\, the workshop invites participants into a shared process of presence\, listening\, silence\, vulnerability\, and authentic communication. Through simple practices and circle time\, the group explores how real community can emerge when people are willing to meet themselves and one another more truthfully. \n  \nThis is not a theoretical training only. It is a lived experience of what can happen when a group begins to slow down\, listen more deeply\, speak more honestly\, and make space for difference\, uncertainty\, and genuine encounter. \nWho is it for?\nThis workshop is for those who wish to cultivate deeper and more authentic relationships in their personal lives\, teams\, organisations\, or communities. \nIt may be especially meaningful for people who work with others\, hold space for groups\, support communities\, or simply long for more honest and human ways of being together. \nImportant note\nThe facilitator provides structure\, guidance\, and care for the group process\, but the workshop is not therapy and does not replace therapeutic or medical support. The experience can be emotionally intense\, so we ask each participant to consider their own readiness with care. \nFull attendance is required for the three days. \nSchedule\nFriday\, November 6\n9:00–18:00 \nSaturday\, November 7\n9:00–18:00 \nSunday\, November 8\n9:00–16:30 \nFurther practical details will be shared after registration.

SUMMARY:Creating Transformative Cultures – 5 week Ecovillage Desing Education Course – CB included
DESCRIPTION:What does it take to create resilient projects that support a healthy\, diverse and equitable future in a rapidly changing world?\n\nHow do I truly want to show up for myself and others in this precious moment of life?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCreating Transformative Cultures is an empowering individual and collective process of re-imagining our relationship with the world and ourselves in a time of unprecedented challenges.\nThe Ecovillage Design Education course is a five-week experiential laboratory\, where you are encouraged to pose the questions most relevant in our times. You explore what it means to be alive on this beautiful but wounded planet. How to hold the complexity of a world in crisis. Within yourself and others. The course intends to empower and accompany you on your path. \nWe offer you a unique in-depth exploration and experience of community as a key element of the much needed transformations in our current eruptive times  inspired by various approaches to social transformation\, as well as over 20 years of experience of the Ecovillage Schloss Glarisegg\, as a thriving community project. \nEdward\, the founder of CBI will guide an immersive 4-day community building workshop as part of this 5-week learning journey. Community Building will be on of the tools that you will practice as a temporary community\, opening regular circle times to deepen and explore our social container. \nEach year’s course is a novel experience\, as the constellation of 40 – 50 people coming together from different parts of the world in this particular moment in time will bring up unique questions and topics to discover and learn from. You will be surrounded by people from all walks of life\, ages\, genders and backgrounds\, open to imagine a regenerative way of being and acting with creativity and playfulness. Together you embark on a lively journey of collaboration. You experience the power of authenticity\, of community and the art of connection – which are needed antidotes to polarisation\, discrimination and separation. You will research and learn what it takes to be fully present\, to co-create communities and projects\, maintain them in a healthy way and overcome challenges together.\nCurious to find out more? Visit the course website for more information. Registrations are open!
